How Telegram got its first users?

The Durov brothers, Pavel and Nikolai, are the creators of Telegram. VKontakte, a Russian alternative to Facebook, was their prior initiative. Telegram works similarly to WhatsApp.
It all began with Pavel Durov's wish - Telegra.ph. He wanted to be able to speak with his brother freely, without the Russian supervision. The authorities already kept an eye for VKontakte. Nikolai created MTProto, a mobile device protocol. It was the framework for Telegram. While Russian shareholders attempted to quiet VKontakte, the brothers continued their work on their new project in secret.
The key feature of Telegram is its concern for user data and encryption. Telegram is encrypted in a variety of ways and is tough for third parties to access. The feeling of safety the app provided boosted Telegram user acquisition. The Durov brothers wanted to battle for the freedom of speech, against the limitations coming from the Russian authorities.
Pavel Durov used Digital Fortress to generate funding for Telegram. It was something he developed in the shadows while actively working at VKontakte.
Durov used social media channels to promote his instant messaging app. Telegram user acquisition saw a significant boost thanks to that strategy. On his Instagram profile, Durov posted about his "war" against the Russian authorities. Durov's large number of followers did a good job in marketing Telegram and increasing its user acquisition even further.
